Fort St George is the name of the first
English (later
British) fortress in
India, founded at the coastal city of Madras, the modern city of
Chennai. The construction of the Fort provided the impetus for capturing India by the Biritish and colonizing Asian countries. The fort was completed on 23 April 1644, coinciding with
St George's Day, celebrated in honour of the patron saint of
England. Francis Day was an English colonial administrator, associated with the East India Company was the one of the Architect of Fort.St.George.
This fort is one of the 163 notified areas (megalithic sites) in the state of Tamil Nadu.
The Fort St.George, now housing the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu The Legislative Assembly is the supreme
legislative body in Tamilnadu.

Imported cut flowers
Many flowers are imported into India and have become part of Indian life. These imported flowers which are not familiar to India like Daffodil, Narcissus, Tulips, Freezia, Hyacinths, Sandesonia will be on the display.
Underexploited cut flowers
More than 80 cut flowers used in the world, are being traded in the Flower auction centres of both Northern hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere. Some of the cut flowers are not common to India not familiar to the Visiting public. The flowers like Agapanthus, Arum lily, Torch liliy, Montfreezia], Verbena have the potential to become the commercial important cut flower of world . These underexploited cut flowers will be displayed in the flower show 2013.
Dry flowers
Fresh flower are coomonly sed but they are highly fperishable, and its beaty can not lost longer. At the same time, the beauty can be retained by drying technique. In the busy world, using fresh cut flowers pose a some problems. Use of dry flower offers an alternative to cut flowers. Dry flower of the District like Pine, arucaria, grassy flowers will be displayed during the show.
Nilgiri wild Flowers
The Nilgiri lies in the centre of Western Ghats of South India and is one of the mega biodiversity centre of World and ooffers wild flowers. Wild flowers like Helichrysum. Verbena, Meliosoma, ete will be displayed.
Kangaroo
Floral structure of Kangroo will be displayed in such a way that children can photograph of their faces coming out of pouch of kangaroo.
